Leadership & governance

An institution that can survive beyond individuals.

The people charged with protecting the institution.

Leadership at BMF is not only about holding office. It is the stewardship of trust — protecting the institution, translating purpose into programmes, building systems, maintaining accountability and ensuring that the work can continue beyond any one individual.

Rethabile Ntsamaneng Thakhuli — Chief Executive Officer

Rethabile is the operational and administrative engine of the Buang Moloto Foundation, responsible for translating the Foundation’s vision into coordinated programmes, sound administration and accountable delivery.

Her work spans programme coordination, budgeting, financial control, governance support, sponsorship and partner coordination, stakeholder engagement, logistics, reporting, compliance and the day-to-day systems required to move ideas from concept to execution.

She brings a strong finance and institutional-management background to the role. Rethabile holds a BCom in Financial Accounting from North-West University and has continued her executive development through an Executive MBA programme at Quantic. She also serves as Finance Manager at Linhleko Projects, where her responsibilities in budgeting, cost control, reporting, cash-flow management, internal controls and audit readiness strengthen the financial discipline she brings to the Foundation.

As CEO, Rethabile works across the Foundation’s community-development, arts and culture, youth, education, relief and partnership programmes. Her role is deliberately practical: build the systems, coordinate the people, protect compliance, support fundraising and sponsorship processes, and ensure that commitments made in the Foundation’s name are carried through with discipline.

She also carries important institutional memory across the Foundation’s growth and is central to its continuity as BMF develops from founder-led activity into a stronger, more durable organisation.

Governance & Accountability

The Foundation is strengthening its governance, financial controls, programme reporting and institutional records as its work and partnerships grow. Public reporting will expand alongside verified impact data and formal funding relationships.
